A standard video wall is the easiest multi-screen setup as it maintains a consistent aspect ratio for your content (i.e. 16:9) while scaling up the size of your displays by adding additional screens.

Typical layouts include 2x2 and 3x3, but most screens are capable of supporting up to 10x10.

Screens can be mounted in landscape or portrait to create a large screen array to capture your audiences attention.

**Setup:**

The setup for a standard video wall is quite simple. You’ll need a media player capable of outputting ideally 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) and screens that support daisy chaining or tiling mode. Usually with these setups you’ll want to buy video wall specific panels which come with very small bezels (the black edge around screens), however most digital signage displays support these modes.

Some digital signage screens will include System on Chip (SoC) which means the media player is built into the screen. Confirm with your supplier whether tiling mode supports using the onboard media player or whether an external player is required.

Refer to your specific screens manual for how to set up and turn on tiling mode or daisy chaining, however a general overview is:

1. Media player is connected to one screen with a single Fusion Signage licence (any level)
2. HDMI/DVI/Displayport cables are connected from the first screen to the remaining screens (there will be a specific port for this cable)
3. On each screen find tiling mode and specify the array size and where each screen sits in the array (check your screen specific manual on how to set up tiling mode)
4. The source from the media player is then tiled or stretched across all screens in the array

**Considerations:**

The larger your array the more then content will be stretched. Taking the original source of 1920 x 1080 and stretching it up to a 3x3 will result in a lower quality image being displayed.

Keep in mind that a 3x3 video wall is designed to be viewed from a distance, so walk back to check how the content appears. Try to ensure you are working with a minimum resolution output of 3840 x 2160 (4K).

**4K loop through**

Check with your supplier to ensure that the screen you choose supports 4K loop through in tiling mode. This means when using a 4K media player each screen is capable of taking that 4K source and displaying it, as opposed to downscaling it to 1080P. If it doesn’t, your 4k source will be displayed lower than 1080P resulting in a poor quality output.
