What are designs and overlays?
In the Designer, you can create two types of content.
Designs – these are standard pieces of content (images, videos, etc.) that display on your screen. They appear in your playlist just like your other media.
Overlays – overlays are custom widgets that sit on top of any content in your playlist. They have a transparent background, allowing you to add elements like shapes, text, lines, and widgets that overlay directly onto your media.
Creating a new overlay
Open the Designer, create a new design, select Overlay from the Type dropdown.
Alternatively, you can convert an existing design to an overlay later by clicking the settings gear icon next to the Save button.
Build your overlay by adding shapes, text, lines, and widgets.
When finished, select a folder and click Save.
Using your overlay
Open an existing playlist or create a new one.
Click Overlay at the top left of the screen.
Choose your saved overlay from the dropdown list.
Add your media or other content into the playlist.
Click Preview to see how the overlay appears over your media.
When you're happy with it, click Save & Publish to deploy the content to your screens.
