BSN.Cloud versus SD Card
There are two methods for installing the Fusion Signage application on your BrightSign unit:
BSN.Cloud, or
The preferred method is through BSN.Cloud, which is a free solution provided by BrightSign and enables remote management and easy updates of your BrightSign players, including provisioning the device.
SD Card will still work, however if you ever have to change any settings or troubleshoot the device you will need to physically access it on site.
This page will explain how to set up your BrightSign using BSN.Cloud
Supported devices
Only the latest generation of BrightSign devices are supported.
Devices listed as Legacy are not compatible with Fusion Signage.

Step 1: Preparing your BrightSign unit
Follow these steps to get your device ready:
Ensure your SD card is cleared and formatted to FAT32 or ExFAT
Insert it into the BrightSign unit
Connect the power adapter
Connect a display to the BrightSign via HDMI (or other display cables as supported)
Connect the device to the internet through the Ethernet port.
Step 2: Create a BSN.Cloud account
Visit control.bsn.cloud and create an account. If you already have an account log in here.
Once your account is created, log in select your network, then click Next.
Step 3: Create a new player setup
In order to install Fusion Signage on your devices, you'll need to create a setup file for each media player, networking, and time zone variation.
From the BSN Cloud Dashboard, navigate to Admin > Player Setup.
Enter a name for your package and an optional description.
It's a good idea to include the model number (i.e. HD224) and any other identifying factors about this setup file (i.e. Time zone)
Select your time zone to ensure scheduling accuracy
Click the arrow next to Partner App, then click select a partner app and find Fusion Signage.
On the right side under Player Settings:
BrightSignOS Update: Find the model of your device and ensure the Latest Released OS is ticked.
Remote Screenshot = Enabled
Advanced tab = tick Enable BSN.cloud.
At the bottom, click Add Setup File to Library.
Your package will now appear in the Setup Library.
Repeat this step for any additional setup files you will need.
Step 4: Player activation
Ensure your BrightSign device is turned on, is connected to the internet, and has an empty SD Card in it.
Once it boots, you will see a purple activation screen with a QR code and some device information on it.
In BSN.Cloud, go to Admin > Player Activation.
Enter the activation code displayed on your device and click Submit.
Repeat for any additional players
Step 5: Player Provisioning
Navigate to Admin > Player Provisioning.
Find your device by serial number, assign a name and description (via the edit icon).
It's a good idea to ensure this matches what you will call it in Fusion Signage. You will be able to search in Fusion via the serial number if needed.
Select your setup package and click Apply Setup.
Your BrightSign will reboot multiple times, eventually loading the Fusion Signage app.
Once provisioned successfully, your players will appear under the Network tab at the top of BSN.Cloud. Here you can remotely access and manage your devices by clicking the settings icon next to the player name.

Optional: Portrait orientation and custom configurations
If your player needs to be configured for Portrait orientation, you can do this by uploading a custom settings.json file and uploading it to your player.
Creating the settings.json
Log into the Fusion Signage portal at Settings > Player App > Configuration Settings.
Adjust settings as needed:
Enable Auto Updates (default ON; turn OFF for manual updates).
Enable Video Sound.

Hold both Reset and SVC buttons next to the power port.
While holding, plug in the power cable and keep holding until the Err light blinks rapidly.
