What's in the box?

Each package typically contains:

  • Android media player

  • HDMI joiner – to connect the player to an existing HDMI cable

  • HDMI extender cable – for connecting to a screen with limited space

  • Power supply

  • 2 AAA batteries – to power the air mouse

Ports and connections

The media player includes:

  • Ethernet/Network port – for wired internet connection

  • 2 USB ports

  • Power input

  • Built-in HDMI output

Setting up the wireless air mouse

  1. Locate the wireless air mouse and remove the panel on the back to access the batteries and USB receiver.

  2. Insert the batteries into the remote, following the correct orientation.

  3. Remove the USB receiver from the back of the air mouse.

  4. Plug the USB receiver into one of the USB ports on the media player.

Connecting your media player

  1. Connect the media player to your screen. Use the HDMI extender cable or HDMI joiner if needed, then connect to the main HDMI port.

  2. Connect the media player to the wired network via ethernet (if available).

  3. Plug the power supply into the media player.

  4. Turn on your screen and select the HDMI input you connected the player to.

  5. You should see the Fusion Signage application screen, ready for setup.

Configuring your player

For Fusion Signage to generate an Identity code, your media player must be:

  • Connected to the internet

  • Showing the correct date and time

Connecting to the internet

  • Wired connection – if your network switch uses DHCP, the player should automatically connect. Confirm with your network administrator if manual settings are required.

  • WiFi connection:

    • Use the Fusion Signage app to access WiFi Settings.

    • Select the correct SSID and enter your password.

    • The player should connect to the internet.

Handy tip – if network issues occur, try connecting to your mobile device’s WiFi hotspot to test connectivity without network restrictions.

Important security note – Fusion Signage Android players only support WPA2 Wi-Fi security protocols.

  • WPA3-only networks are not supported.

  • Mixed WPA2/WPA3 (transition mode) networks are also incompatible.

Setting the date and time

Fusion Signage uses security certificates that rely on accurate device date and time.

  • Verify the date and time on the Fusion Signage app screen.

  • To set or adjust, go to Settings > Date/Time Settings and select the correct date, time, and timezone for your location.

Touchscreen devices

By default, the Fusion Signage menu will appear when the screen or remote is touched.

  • To prevent accidental menu access, enable 'Menu Secure Access' in the player settings.

  • When enabled, the menu can only be accessed by touching the screen 5 times quickly.

Adding your screen to the Fusion Signage account

  1. Log into the portal at https://app.fusionsignage.com.au.

  2. Navigate to Deploy.

  3. Click Add Screen in the top right corner.

  4. Your screen will display a 5-6 digit Identity code – enter this into the popup box in the portal.

  5. Assign a name to your screen (matching the one you noted earlier).

  6. Select the available licence.

  7. Set the correct timezone.

  8. Click Add.

Your screen is now linked and ready for content management.
