what is root access root access (often called “rooting”) means having full administrative control over an android device’s operating system it’s similar to having administrator access on a computer giving you the ability to modify system level settings and files that are normally locked by the manufacturer why we need it root access is required in order to automatically boot into fusion signage when the device turns on, as well as remotely update our application and control the device there are a lot of variations of devices, and all may handle root access differently so check with your supplier/manufacturer to ensure this option is available supersu (older devices) look for an application called supersu it's important that you set fusion signage to grant otherwise when a remote update occurs a pop up will appear requesting access accessibility settings if you are prompted to enable fusion signage in accessibility settings we recommend doing this as it gives us access to screenshotting and other remote management features generally this will only appear on more recent android os versions looking for something else? we can’t wait to hear about it reach out to our sunshiney support and we'll be in touch in a flash
