Schedules

One of the key benefits of digital signage is the ability to have your content automatically update without you around. For all Advanced or Pro licence holders, welcome to Schedules.

Schedules Tutorial (1min 20secs)

Overview

Schedules are an accumulation of playlists that have been allocated to play at certain times of the day, week or month. Once you have created a Playlist you can automate the process of changing between different Playlists using a Schedule.

Important:
  • Fusion Signage downloads the content to your screen at the scheduled start time. So your device will need to be online at the time for your content to update.
  • Scheduling relies on your device time and date so if this isn't set correctly your content will not appear at the right time.

Adding a Schedule

  • From within the Manage section, click Add, then select Schedule. Give your schedule a name.
  • In the calendar view, click and drag to select a time period.
  • Choose a Playlist, set an event name, and select the days of the week you want it to play on. Adjust the start and end time if necessary, and set the start and end date.
  • If you tick Forever, you will only have to set the start time and date.
  • Click Add Schedule.
  • You’ll see that the time you selected is now taken up by your playlist.
  • You can only add a single playlist to a time slot at any given time.
  • Now let’s add another playlist.
  • Where there is a gap between any of these events, once the first event ends, that content will continue to play on the screen, so your screen isn’t blank.
  • If you don’t want this to happen, you can set a default playlist. Your default playlist will play any time there is no playlist scheduled.
  • You can add playlists months in advance if you want!
Note:

You must have a Playlist created in order to add it to a Schedule.

Set a Default Playlist

Once a scheduled event has ended your screen will continue to play the last playlist in the schedule, until another event happens. You can set a default playlist at the top which will be the content that plays when any event isn’t scheduled. When a default playlist is set, the background will turn grey. To remove or change a default playlist, click the button again.

Publishing a Schedule

When you are happy with your schedule, click save and publish. If you’re not ready to assign it to a screen yet, just click save. Otherwise, use the dropdowns to assign it to a Screen, or Screen Group.

Please note if this schedule is currently assigned to a screen or screens, and you have a live internet connection, it will instantly push the content to those screens.

Remember:

Only a Playlist OR a Schedule can be assigned to the screen. A Schedule contains many Playlists whereas a single Playlist contains media files.

Schedules = scheduled!
