Follow these steps to connect Fusion Signage to Zapier so files uploaded to Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox can be sent to your Fusion Signage account automatically.

Before you begin

Step-by-step setup

  1. Click Accept Invite & Build a Zap.

  2. Click +Create in the right hand corner to create a new zap.

  3. Click Trigger and select the online storage platform you use – we current support Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox.

  4. Click Trigger event and select the file-upload trigger from your storage platform (either 'file' or 'new file in folder' based on how you want to use this automation).

  5. Log in to the chosen cloud storage account and click Continue.

  6. Select your drive.

  7. Search for the folder you want to pull media from once uploaded.

  8. Subfolders is an option if you want to include media items added to subfolders within this main folder you’ve chosen. If this is irrelevant, click false and ignore the next step. If you want subfolders included, click true and if there are sub folders within sub folders you want to include, name the number of subfolders in this step here. So if you have one sub folder within the main folder, say 1. If you have a sub folder within a sub folder, say 2.

  9. 'Include Deleted Files?' means if you delete a file from your storage location, then it will be deleted from Fusion Signage too, so play with these settings if you don’t want that to happen.

  10. Click Continue.

  11. To test your trigger, you’ll need something in the folder you created, so upload something first to test it.

  12. Click continue with your selected record.

  13. Search in the search bar 'Fusion Signage' and it will appear.

  14. Choose an action event – which right now is only Upload Media. This will grow in the near future.

  15. Under Account, login to your Fusion Signage account in the pop up window.

  16. This is where you need the personal access token we saved earlier. Paste it in and click yes, continue.

  17. Continue again.

  18. These fields are important to follow exactly, so please take note. Click the add symbol next to Name. Use either the original file name or the title of the file.

  19. Media URL – you need to click file because that’s a reference to the file itself. Not any other option – only file please.

  20. Click Folder and search for the folder within Fusion Signage you want this automation to deliver to.

  21. Click continue.

  22. Click Test step.

  23. If there are no errors, click Publish. If there are errors, please go back over the previous steps again and make sure everything is set up exactly. If you're still having trouble, please email us at [email protected].

  24. If you had no issues, that automation is set and you can check in your selected Fusion Signage folder that everything’s gone to plan.

Troubleshooting tips

  • If Zapier can’t find files, double-check the folder path and ensure 'include subfolders' is enabled if needed.

  • Ensure the PAT is correct and active. Regenerate a PAT in Fusion Signage if necessary.

  • When mapping folders in Fusion Signage, confirm the folder ID/name is correct to avoid misplacement.
